Despite the dreadful weather, plenty of visitors came to sample the cider, visit the stalls, and admire the array of LandRovers on display stands and parked in the fields.
Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response attended the event and were delighted with the interest so many people showed in the group. Some dozen people also signed up to be potential new team members.
Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response provide Volunteer Emergency Logistical Support to a wide range of events, as well as being called upon by Blue Light Services (police, ambulance), the NHS (transporting Nurses and Doctors to their workplaces during severe weather – snow, floods), several local charities such as Cornwall Hospice Care, St Luke’s Hospice, Cancer Research, Dartmoor Rescue Team (Ten Tors), Cornwall Fire Service and many others.
Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response are part of the National 4x4 Response Network and as such have in the past provided assistance when required to our neighbouring teams.
Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response is currently recruiting, and would like to welcome more members to the teams. Our teams give their own time and skills to the numerous agencies we assist to help people when needed. We have several Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response Teams and are always looking for Volunteers to cover a range of roles, from Active Members who are drivers, Active Members who are not Drivers, Controllers, Support members, and anyone who has something to offer
the teams.
