Help us to help you

Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response is a voluntary organisation with charitable status and we receive no regular funding.

In order to remain operational and able to supply crucial logistical support for the agencies that rely on us in times of need, we still have significant expenses, including member training, vetting, Hi-Vis clothing, communication equipment and, more recently, PPE to keep our partner agencies and responders safe.

We therefore rely on donations and sponsorship to maintain the high level of support that we offer.  There are many ways the public can help, from financial donations to local company sponsorship.

So, are you able to support the important service that our volunteers offer, 24 hours day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year?

There are links on our website and social media pages where donations can be made simply and safely, and we are extremely grateful to those who help in this way.  But we need more.

As the winter approaches, our level of activity will rise, especially if we are unfortunate enough to have snow, ice, or flooding.  Our responders are often out in inclement weather, transporting critical staff to remote areas and we have a duty of care towards them, as well as the personnel we transport.  We are currently seeking funding or sponsorship to purchase and equip a mobile welfare/incident unit which could also be made available for the wider community.  We are happy to advertise the services of any sponsor if we can achieve this goal, as the unit will also be used as a display vehicle at county shows and charity events.

We also need communication equipment (E.g., roaming SIM cards), better all-weather clothing, vehicle branding and more.

If you are an individual or a local company and you think you could help, please contact our Fundraising Officer in the first instance and he will be happy to discuss any help or ideas you may have.

Remember, DC4X4R is a local charity,

“Helping others where others can’t”.
